A Deeper Look: Dancing for Our Tribe presentation

  • Waukegan History Museum at the Carnegie 1 North Sheridan Road Waukegan, Illinois, 60085 United States (map)

You are invited to a guided tour of our new exhibition, “Dancing for Our Tribe.” A gallery of nearly life-sized portraits of contemporary Potawatomi people, Sharon Hoogstraten (photographer and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation) along with Gabriel Cleveland (Ho-Chonk artist and dancer) will share stories of these Native people and their determination to save tradition while showing that “WE ARE STILL HERE.”

At 6:00 PM, Sharon will give a presentation detailing the Potawatomi history of the land we stand on, and the significance of this beautiful regalia.

Space is limited. Register to reserve your spot!
