The Waukegan History Museum of the Waukegan Park District and the Waukegan Historical Society will give the free guided walking tour Haunted Waukegan on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 6:00pm. This free guided walking tour is appropriate for families and children and starts at the Waukegan Park District’s Douglas House in Upton Park at 732 N. Genesee Street, Waukegan, IL 60085. On-street parking is available on Genesee Street, Sheridan Road, and County Street.
Pre-registration is required for the walking tour. Registration is available online at www.waukeganparks.org, or in person at the Jack Benny Center for the Arts-39 Jack Benny Drive in Bowen Park, the Belvidere Recreation Center-412 S. Lewis Avenue in Belvidere Park, and the Field House Sports, Fitness and Aquatics Center at Hinkston Park-800 Baldwin Avenue.
On the walking tour, led by Museum Supervisor Ty Rohrer, participants will learn haunted and strange stories of Waukegan’s past, while walking the streets of the historic district and downtown.
The tour will cover three miles and will last two hours. Tours may be cancelled if there is rain or other inclement weather.
